Cooking Lessons in Junior Infants!

Junior Infants will enjoy cooking lessons with Eilis, from Learn Local every Monday for the month of January.

Lesson 1: The Grand Premiere: Culinary Boot Camp in Week 1!

Lights, camera, action! The kitchen officially opened its doors for our newest batch of culinary recruits. This was the week of foundations, where the children learned the sacred art of kitchen safety and mastery. Their mission, should they choose to accept it, was to master the delicate dance of the toddler-safe knives! They focused their energy, learning to confidently cut, dice, and slice a vibrant array of fruits and vegetables, transforming whole fruits and vegtables into perfectly prepped pieces.

But the learning didn't stop there. They engaged in a full-scale sensory exploration, turning into food scientists as they awakened their five super-senses:

  • Taste the sharp zest of lemon and the sweet burst of tomato.
  • Smell the fresh, peppery aroma of basil.
  • Touch the bumpy skin of the cucumber and the soft texture of bread.
  • Sight the rainbow colors of the peppers.

It was a thrilling, hands-on journey of discovery to truly meet their food.

See the fun in action by taking a look at this short video of their successful first lesson! And set your calendars—we can't wait for you to check back next week to follow their progress in the second lesson!
